The mission of KWRCC is to provide resources and crisis services to the Kodiak Island Community, as well as safe shelter for victims and their children fleeing Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault. They are dedicated to helping victims develop inner strength to achieve their fullest potential and are committed to promoting community awareness and education in the prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

TWC provides a safe place for women and children who have been battered or sexually assaulted, or who fear that they will soon be. Room is also available for male victims. An advocate is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to accompany victims to the hospital and support them through.

A comprehensive safe home program for victims of domestic violence, Willa’s Way serves Alaska Native and American Indian women and their children who are homeless due to domestic violence.

The Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living’s vision is a safe and supportive community for all. IAC provides programs to intervene and prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, suicide, and other violent crimes that negatively impact our community and the surrounding interior villages.

The Women’s Shelter opened in December 2015 as a cold-weather shelter, and has since become a safe haven and home for homeless women in Downtown Anchorage. The Women’s Shelter houses fifty women each night, year-round. Dinner, prepared by Feed Me Hope Culinary Students, is served in the early evening while the women color, read or set up their beds for the night. Showers, laundry and basic toiletries are also available to the guests during shelter hours.

The Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission is a sober shelter that has provided emergency housing, food, fellowship, and job support (without red tape) to our Alaska neighbors for almost 60 years.

SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of needy families so they can purchase healthy food and move towards self-sufficiency.

Grant awards typically range from $500 to $2,000 per academic year for students who have qualifying unmet financial need.

The Alaska Temporary Assistance Program (ATAP) provides cash assistance and work services to low-income families with children to help them with basic needs while they work toward becoming self-sufficient.
