Minnesota Safe Haven Laws allows a newborn’s mother or any person with the mother’s approval may leave a newborn not older than 72 hours with a hospital employee, at a hospital, fire station, or law enforcement agency in the state without being subject to prosecution. The newborn must be in an unharmed condition while leaving it at the hospital.
